Arduino is a programmable microcontroller and open-source software based on the ATMega chip. It can be operated by anyone, from beginners to experts alike as it is designed to be simple and easy to use. Arduino can be used in various electronics projects whether temporary or embedded, Although the Arduino is designed as a prototyping platform. Arduino software is used to program the Arduino board and the syntax for this is similar to C/C++ and Java.
There is a large community behind it and can find many projects and tutorials from all over the world online. You can get hold of the source code and schematics for it as Arduino is an open-source platform. This means you can go through as far into it as you want, even creating your own Arduino boards.
What can I do with an Arduino?
Pretty much anything you want! It can be used in so many different ways as past projects include robots, art installations, in-car computers, MIDI controllers, cocktail makers, smart Door Lock using Keypads, human-computer interfaces, Facebook ‘like’ counters, advertising displays, clocks, music instruments, custom mouse and keyboard, home automation… The list goes on and on!
Arduino board has the capability to read data from sensors, receive and send digital signals, and can connect via serial to your computer. You can control many things, from motors and relays to LEDs and LCDs.
We have launched our first course on Arduino with the title “Learn Arduino with Apxic”. This is a complete course on Arduino, designed for students with no prior experience in electronics or the programming side. After taking this course, you will be able to design & develop any type of project using the Arduino platform.

We have designed this course with a ‘practical learning’ approach, where you will learn all the concepts and fundamentals by building hands-on projects. This is a course designed for anybody who is looking forward to building Arduino-based projects.
You’ll be doing the following Arduino Projects:
- Automatic Hand Sanitizer/Soap Dispenser
- Automatic Light Control using LDR
- Generating Patterns with LED’s
- Obstacle Avoidance Robot
- Smart Door Lock using Keypads
- Home Security System (Gas leakage, Protect against Fire accident)
- Weather Monitoring System (Measure Temperature & Humidity)
- Smart Irrigation System
